We went sailing today....
Here I am with Shawn Jonutz, the bosun. We've spent a lot of energy (especially Shawn) teaching ourselves on how this vessel is best rigged. Our main resource for rigging happens to be a photo hanging in the saloon. (See our Profile photo). I have learned to love mending sails, bending them on, and rigging in general. It's like a giant puzzle and changing it up so that things run smooth aka LESS CHAFE and a functional rig is very rewarding. I'm so glad I've been back on deck for a while.

Left Westport
We left Westport a few days ago and are now in Port Angeles. I promised the Puerto Ricans that the women would have more teeth in this town... but you can only expect so much from the seediest bars in each town.
I went walking around one pretty night in Westport and took some pics.
I saw Shawn checking out the surf and sunset too:
My Spy
My friends and fam say they never see pictures of me, so here are some that I found on Natalie's computer.

That's Stacey in the background above.

one of my not-so-glamourous moments...
delectable flan
My little sister and I went to hang out in Ballard today. We went to one of my favorite thrift stores, then wandered through shops like Kavu (which no longer has an excellent clearance room), Archie McPhees, Bop Street Records, LolaMoonTees, where I really wanted to buy this shirt, but the anchor stock was drawn wrong.
We stopped by Nanette's after going out for dinner at a new Puerto Rican restaurant. It seems to me that the Puerto Ricans eat much of the finest fried food in the world. We had delectable flan and coconut custard too.
Tomorrow I head back to the boat.
